Scavenger Junk Journal Round 17

EVERYONE ADD YOUR LAYOUTS IN THE COMMENTS!!

For round 17 here is the list:

picture of an older person

fabric

cursive

plant

My partners to "send to" are Lob, MamaKek and HelloJet.

My layout is patterned plant designed paper and floral washi combined. I used a magazine cut out of some older ladies and the old style library card was made by me just for fun. There is some fabric on there that is an image of some cool collages that I hope to find a use for in more swaps in the future. It is like a photo that was printed onto fabric. Then I stuck a Dolly Parton signature sticker on the top. I should have found a photo of her and just put her on here, but in my mind she isn't "older". I may end up changing it anyway.

Thanks everyone for joining us this round. - Maggie (soyprincesa2)

I cannot find a Scavenger Junk Journal Round 17 picture from @Nicole72898 (loveforpaper22), but I looked through this whole site (lots of lovely inspiration, so cool to see everyone's creations!) and I did come across one picture she posted for Round 15 (mistakenly posted in the comments for Round 12), plus several kind comments (without pictures).

I left her a comment on her SB page and hopefully we can get this fixed soon, but I find it all very puzzling!

hope everybody's doing ok---

Hi Nicole! This is such a lovely composition with the old photo and vintage papers + the pink fabric. The botanical print of the journal page is subtle but also adds dimension to the piece :)

Thank you for posting here in addition to your 4/19 email, as I'm sure the other artists would enjoy seeing your work as well--so much of the appeal of Maggie's swaps is getting to see everyone else's work, and hopefully now that you've figured out the website you can get the corresponding pictures added to the other swap posts.

Scavenger Junk Journal Round 17

By: ScrapHappyabi

Swap-bot Time: April 14, 2024 6:13 pm

For round 17 here is the list:

*picture of an older person - 中島 春雄 ( Nakajima Haruo )

*fabric - Red satin trim from an old dress

*cursive - My handwriting as well as the cursive writing on the Washi

*plant - Ok… for PLANT I went with POWER PLANT which is what Godzilla is targeting on the postcard!!

Godzilla has always been my favorite “old” monster movie. I love all of the Godzilla movies but

the movies starring Nakajima Haruo in the Godzilla suit are, by far, THE BEST OF THE BEST!

Hi everyone,

I’m sorry that I have waited until the last day for this swap. I have been so so busy with exams and revision. It was really nice to take a break and do this spread and give myself a brain break. This spread was inspired by my late gran. She loved the colour blue so I have added blue fabric, she loved her garden and all her plants so I have used stickers and washi to reflect this. Lavender was one of her favourites. I layered the photos on top of some cursive scrapbook paper I had. The washi tape on the bottom left hand side reminded me of a bedspread she used to have, it is pretty…

Hi everyone,

My partners for this round are: Gnoe, Nicole72898 and UKrebel85 - thanks for your rating! (hellojett)

For this one I found a picture of my late grandmother (covered with another older lady), she was the "matriarch" of our family, that's what I thought anyway. She held us all together, The fabric is from a dress that I sewed recently and also a similar fabric that I just made two pillow case covers from - both in herringbone pattern.

The cursive is the writing around the top and the word matriarch.

Plant - this is the background sticker and the wooden flowers too.

I spoiled it a little with black pen around the abstract fabric pieces which are made to…
